Segregation in Pashupatinath….

Pashupatinath is one of the most pious and biggest temples of lord shiva located on the banks of the bagmati river. It is also the oldest temple in the Kathmandu valley (built around 400 AD).

Done with the description i want to focus my attention to another issue related to this holy place.. one thing that still amazes me why is this holy temple a spot of segregation still in this 21st century .. the whole country has transformed into a republic and is trying to break the bars of caste and creed but this place is still untouched by the winds of change and non hindus are still barred from entering the temple. a board saying non hindus not allowed can still be seen the entrance of the temple. should everybody adhered to pashupatinath whether hindu or non hindu be allowed to visit this holy place?? isn’t it undemocratic to ban people in public places just because of the religion they follow. Lord pashupatinath is defined as the protector of all living species so why should non hindus be barred to pay their tribute to him an receive blessings from him ?? shouldn’t all good things be shared??

Another baffling question is why is leather banned inside this temple when thousand of animals are sacrificed in this temple on various occasion.. a place where you can cut skin but not wear skin….i dont intend to blasphemize but this is true and… strange..
